Matthew Yglesias makes a convincing argument on BloggingHeads that the Republican foreign policy is failing because no one takes this notion of World War IV seriously anymore.
My take is that instead of a global battle of good against evil, we've entangled ourselves in an old-fashioned post-colonial struggle.
