The short answer is no, he did not. Ricky Gervais was the only reason you might want to watch this nonsense. The movies and shows themselves were largely undeserving. The big stars themselves played it way too cool for school. More bored than glamorous. Their speeches and asides ran the gamut from sanctimonious to vapid. Frankly, Gervais could have used more screen time.
