Dead Flowers has some cool and rare recordings of the Smiths playing instrumental versions of "How Soon Is Now?" and "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out", as well as an excellent impromptu cover of Hendrix's "Purple Haze."
Contrary to popular myth the Smiths were neither dirge-like or whiny. And these tracks confirm Johnny Marr's status as a guitar god.
