The Fratellis - "Costello Music"

I've been waiting for Pitchfork and the like to review this one before picking it up, but I guess it wasn't indie enough. Maybe it was uncool of Apple to use the single "Flathead". Who cares? This is the most fun I've had listening to a new record since the Lily Allen album finally arrived stateside.

I guess they know how to have more fun in the U.K., because the Fratellis are unabashedly having a good time and it's infectious. Take all the most up-tempo bits from The Clash, Supergrass, and the Arctic Monkeys, add a slightly goofy outlook, and there you go. It plays like the lost soundtrack to the original U.K. version of The Italian Job.

Very much recommended.
